Dorothy Shelly is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ and was installed at Solomon’s on June 4, 2017. She is a graduate of Ursinus College and Lancaster Theological Seminary. Dorothy had previously ministered in chaplaincy and is board certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains and has held leadership roles with the UCC Professional Chaplains and Counselors and the Pennsylvania Society of Chaplains. Ministry is her second career, having also enjoyed a career in nursing. Dorothy is a published poet (Anybody See My Shoes: Poetic Reflections from a Chaplain and Don’t Wait Too Long: Poetic Reflections), a gardener, and an advocate for frequent get-a-ways in Vermont. She resides in Telford, Franconia Township with her husband Bruce. They have a daughter, Donna, and a granddaughter, Kennedy.
